Carbon Spine Frame

Mobility and Accessibility for Prone Positioning

The Carbon Spine Frame (CSF) is an innovative prone positioning solution from Schaerer Medical. Its four-pad support system distributes the patient’s weight across the chest and pelvic areas, allowing the abdomen to remain free. When used in combination with an Axis or Arcus operating table, the cantilevered design provides optimized access for staff and imaging equipment such as O-rings and C-arms. The system also supports patient transportation and allows for intraoperative adjustments to the patient’s position.

Benefits at a glance

Four-post positioners

Individual lateral positioning and pad angulation can be set quickly using a convenient onetouch release. Longitudinal adjustment of the pad holders allows easy accommodation of taller patients. Anatomically contoured, viscoelastic pads—designed for both male and female patients—provide secure support throughout the procedure while maintaining a free abdomen. With a maximal patient weight capacity of 529 lbs (Arcus) and 441 lbs (Axis).

Perioperative Motorized Tabletop Adjustments

The Carbon Spine Frame is designed to operate without the need for floor support. The tabletop can be repositioned while the patient remains on the frame, eliminating the need for additional adjustments.
